A little background!
The Brewery Tour Bus was launched on April 22, 2023, by the Catamaran Brewing Company. This company was the first-ever craft brewery in the French capital of India, Puducherry. Its pioneers, Rangaraju Narayanasamy and Durgaprasad Radhakrishnan, were the masterminds behind this project.
Prasad, the company’s business partner, previously worked for a Fortune 100 tech company in the U.S. Until later, he quit his job and followed his passion to become a full-time brewer in India. Meanwhile, Ranga, the company director, opened an Italian restaurant called Sicilys at the Beach Promenade in Puducherry, his hometown.
Because they had similar interests and thought processes, they collaborated to establish the well-known Catamaran Brewing Company.

- The round trip from Chennai to Puducherry includes a scrumptious three-course meal and limitless craft beer. You will get to gulp the eight craft beer types, including Tropical wheat beer, English India Pale Ale, Strawberry cider, Apple cider, Dark lager, and Rice lager or Seeraga samba rice beer. You will also be able to witness the beauty of Puducherry at the same time.
- Although, the ‘beer bus’ does not allow beer on board. As it is illegal to do so. So, it will make a specific stop at Puducherry, where drinking is permitted. You can explore the place, sample some of the region’s best brews and learn about beer-making.
- The bus can accommodate 40 passengers at a time.
- Route: Chennai to Puducherry & vice versa.
