Although the max height is 5490 meters, it is not for the novice. The Khatling Glacier is full of crevasses and crevasses and requires an experienced expedition leader to cross it and making it one of the top treks in Uttarakhand. Needless to say, as soon as one descends from Vasuki Tal to Kedarnath, the feeling of accomplishment is like no other

5. GIDARA BUGYAL TREK – Treks in Uttarakhand

TREK GIDARA BUGYAL uttarakhand

Godara Bugyal is a pristine, pristine meadow well known in trekking circles. It is one of the largest high-altitude grasslands you will set foot on. It is bigger than its twin Dayara Bugyal. Possibly bigger than the twin meadows of Ali and Bedni Bugyal. It takes at least two days to cross it! Even though it is well known in trekking circles, Godara is extremely secluded. There are very few people who do trekking in these grasslands. The only signs of civilization you’re likely to see are the herders and their settlements around your first camp, You might see a mountain dog or two. But you can go solo group trekking and camping in these grasslands! Geographically Godara is about 15 km away from Dayara. It is also at some height. This means that the mountains you see from Dayara – Bandarban, Gangotri I and III, Draupadi Ka Danda, Jauni, and Srikanta – look much closer and much grander from here.
